Earth; darkness claimed
Why; For night came
Silence desended upon the land;
Gradually but certainly
Another day had met its end;
Quickly. but sadly

Loneliness besieged me;
But I did not worry
For I knew for certain
If I drew the curtain;
The moon would be shining;
So distant yet so bright
Stars will be twinkling;
Little sparkles in the night

My everlasting companions in the night;
Accompanying me as I bid the Earth goodnight.
